Gold and antimony producer Alkane Resources has announced significant new findings from its Tomingley Gold Operations in New South Wales.
The McLeans and Roswell gold deposits within Tomingley, located 50km south west of Dubbo, have delivered significant results: McLeans is adding potential new ounces, and strong intercepts are upgrading the Roswell resource. These discoveries support a longer mine life at Tomingley, strengthening the operational outlook.
“Most of Tomingley’s deposits are open at depth and along strike. This drilling further demonstrates not only the significant resource expansion potential across the mine site but the potential to discover other deposits,” Alkane managing director Nic Earner said.
“Our underground and surface drill programs throughout Tomingley continue. We look forward to continuing to add further resources and mine life.”
Underground drilling at the McLeans deposit has discovered a new, second andesite body containing significant gold mineralisation. This new zone, located 150m west of the current resource, includes a high-grade intercept of 26m grading 4.36 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, which in turn contained a very high-grade 3.3m zone grading 22.8g/t gold.
Simultaneously, intensive drilling at the nearby Roswell deposit confirmed multiple wide, high-grade gold intercepts. Standout results include 7.9m grading 14.6g/t gold, including an exceptionally high-grade 1.1m section of 84.4g/t. This Roswell drilling is part of a program to upgrade the deposit from an inferred resource to a higher confidence indicated resource.
