Gold and antimony producer Alkane Resources has reported a strong performance for the December 2025 quarter, driven by steady production across its three operating mines and a significant increase in liquidity. In New South Wales, the Tomingley mine produced 22,089 ounces (oz) of gold. In Victoria, the Costerfield operation produced 10,790oz of gold and 267 tonnes of antimony. Internationally, the Björkdal mine in Sweden contributed 9888oz of gold to the group total.
This meant Alkane achieved consolidated quarterly production of 43,663 gold-equivalent ounces (AuEq oz), bringing the half-year total to 80,070AuEq oz. These results support the company’s guidance for the 2026 financial year, which remains unchanged at 160,000–175,000AuEq oz.
Alkane is targeting an all-in sustaining cost of $2600–2900/AuEq oz for the period.
“Tomingley will pour its 750,000th ounce of gold during January 2026, a great testament to the team there,” Alkane Resources managing director Nic Earner said.
“We have further strengthened our balance sheet over the quarter with $246 million in cash, bullion and listed investments at quarter end.”
A highlight of the quarter was the substantial growth in the company’s financial position. The $246 million cash figure marks an increase of $55 million from the September quarter. This growth was achieved despite an $11 million income tax payment for the 2025 financial year.
Beyond its current operations, the company continues regional exploration to grow resources and is progressing its large-scale Boda Kaiser gold-copper porphyry project in New South Wales. Alkane has stated it will release its full December 2025 quarterly report later this month.
