Applications are open to local businesses for the 2022 Western Australian Export Awards which recognise businesses competing in global markets, generating export income and creating new jobs.
The awards recognise how export businesses boost the state and national economies, as well as supporting thousands of jobs, with exports contributing more than $240 billion to the state economy in 2021.
Launched in 1988, past award winners have come from a range of sectors, including education, information technology, mining and agriculture.
WA businesses can enter 13 different award categories, including:
- Advanced Technologies
- Agribusiness, Food and Beverages
- Creative Industries
- E-Commerce
- Emerging Exporter
- International Education and Training
- International Health
- Manufacturing and Advanced Materials
- Minerals, Energy and Related Services
- Professional Services
- Regional Exporter
- Small Business
- Sustainability
Category winners from Western Australia will advance as finalists to the national Australian Export Awards co-ordinated by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade).
The Western Australian Export Awards are delivered by Invest and Trade WA and managed by its program partner, the Export Council of Australia.
State Development, Jobs and Trade Minister, Roger Cook, said, “Thousands of Western Australian companies export our local products, produce and expertise to the world.
“The 2022 Western Australian Export Awards will not only honour the outstanding achievements of our local small businesses, but will also inspire other businesses to expand into international markets.
“WA businesses are encouraged to enter the awards and promote their achievements in helping grow the WA economy.”
