The Australian Resources and Energy Employer Association (AREEA) has appointed a new vice president of its board of directors.
Julie Fallon has been appointed to the role, bringing with her 30 years’ experience in Australia’s energy sector including 25 years at Woodside Energy Limited in a variety of executive management, production and engineering roles.
In her current position as Woodside’s Executive Vice President Corporate Services, Ms Fallon leads the division that supports the company’s functions across HSE, human resources, security, legal, property management, supply chain, and improvement and planning.
Ms Fallon first joined the AREEA board as a director in May 2022.
AREEA Chief Executive, Steve Knott, congratulated Ms Fallon on her appointment stating Ms Fallon has extensive and highly regarded operations and corporate management expertise.
“At a time of business growth for both AREEA and the resources and energy sector, Julie’s elevation to the position of vice president is both welcome and timely,” Mr Knott said.
The AREEA board also wishes to acknowledge the contribution of its former vice president, Linda O’Farrell.
Ms O’Farrell served on AREEA’s Board from 2019 to 2022 in her previous capacity as Director Fortescue People at Fortescue Metals Group.
“AREEA benefited from Linda O’Farrell’s talent for strategic leadership as vice president for over four years. We wish Linda the very best in her future endeavours,” Mr Knott said.
AREEA’s Board of Directors now comprises of Tom Quinn as AREEA President, Stuart Mathews as AREEA Vice President, Julie Fallon, AREEA Vice President, Johnpaul Dimech, Zone President APMEA, Maria Sanz Perez as Chief Legal, Risk and Compliance Officer and Company Secretary, Jo Taylor as Managing Director, and Ulysses Yiannis, Human Resources Manager Asia-Pacific.
