WA Mining 2025 promises to bring together leaders, innovators and decision-makers to explore the ideas and technologies shaping the next mining chapter.
Returning to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre in October, the WA Mining Conference and Exhibition (WA Mining) 2025 is set to once again bring Western Australia’s mining sector together under one roof.
Following a sold-out event in 2024, this year’s program is expanding in scale and ambition, with a renewed focus on future-facing ideas and practical innovation that will shape the next era of mining in the state.
As the most significant mining event on the state’s calendar, WA Mining continues to evolve as a platform for critical conversations and strategic collaboration. In 2025, it gains further momentum through a new partnership with the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC), reinforcing the event’s relevance across every corner of the sector.
The conference and exhibition serve as a meeting ground for those driving progress on the ground and in boardrooms alike.
Held over two days, the event combines a paid conference program with a vibrant exhibition floor. Attendees can expect to engage with cutting-edge solutions and explore challenges that span the full spectrum of operational, technological and environmental concerns.
According to AMEC chief executive officer Warren Pearce, the timing of the event could not be more important, given the pace of change within the state’s resources sector.
“With so much happening in WA resources at the moment, the event is a real opportunity for industry to come together to not only discuss the challenges ahead but celebrate the incredible work that is happening on the ground,” Pearce said in a statement.
The conference agenda has been carefully curated around key themes such as advanced technology, decarbonisation, software and data, and long-term industry outlooks. Speakers across panel sessions and keynote addresses will share practical insights into how companies are managing complexity, improving performance, and delivering value beyond compliance.
Delegates will explore how digital tools and automation are reshaping safety, how emissions reduction can be achieved without compromising productivity, and how layered safety strategies are building more resilient site teams.
Drawing from across government, research, policy and operations, the speaker line-up includes some of the most respected names in the sector. Hon. David Michael MLA, Minister for Mines and Petroleum, joins a diverse roster that includes, Oracle director of customer strategy Michael Simms; Industry Capability Network national climate director Dr Vanessa Rauland; and fatigue risk management specialist Dr Nicholas Mabbott.
Cybersecurity, economic policy and workforce capability will also take the spotlight through contributions from leaders at Deloitte Cyber, the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia, and Lifeline WA.
As with previous years, the conference is designed not only to inform but to equip. Delegates will leave with tools, contacts and perspectives they can apply immediately to their operations, regardless of commodity or company size.
Nearly half of 2024’s attendees had purchasing authority, and more than 90 percent came from within WA, underscoring the event’s influence on procurement and strategy at the state level.
This year’s edition also features the support of leading sponsors such as Tesla, Denver Technology, Blackwoods, SRO Technology and Contruent – with their involvement highlighting the growing demand for integrated solutions and project performance tools across the mining value chain.
According to Neil Burlison, general manager APAC at Contruent, which provides a beginning-to-end project lifecycle management solution for capital projects, WA Mining “brings the industry together to tackle the big questions facing projects today”.
“It’s a chance to share our insights, challenge assumptions and highlight what’s delivering real results in WA and around the world,” he said.
The company is looking forward to showcasing a smarter way to manage major capital projects that doesn’t rely on spreadsheets or disconnected systems.
“With Contruent, mining teams are live in just 16 weeks, proving technology can deliver value without the usual six-to-18-month wait,” Burlison said. “Eight of the world’s top 10 miners already trust Contruent, and with our experts based here in Perth, we’re showing what works in practice.”
The exhibition floor will again serve as the practical heart of the event, where companies present solutions developed to meet real-world mining challenges.
Among them is Kinder Australia, whose material handling systems are designed to improve productivity, enhance safety and reduce site-level impact. Kinder sales and marketing manager Sam Veal said the WA market is a growing focus for the business, and that the event provides a rare opportunity to engage directly with frontline personnel.
“What we’ll be showcasing at WA Mining are solutions that directly address operational pain points – dust control, spillage management and flow optimisation,” Veal said.
This kind of face-to-face engagement allows field specialists to demonstrate products in a way that digital brochures or videos cannot match. The result is a more informed and confident workforce, better equipped to assess and adopt technologies that deliver measurable site value.
The inclusion of AMEC as an official partner marks a significant step forward in WA Mining’s evolution. Prime Creative Media marketing manager – mining events Rebecca Todesco said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to championing progress across the sector.
“Having AMEC on board is a strong endorsement of WA Mining’s role in connecting the industry, shaping the future of mining in WA, and providing a platform for collaboration between government, operators and suppliers,” she said.
As mining continues to redefine its role in the broader economy and community, WA Mining 2025 arrives at a moment when clarity, collaboration and innovation are more critical than ever. Whether focused on decarbonisation, digitalisation, or workforce resilience, attendees will find not just ideas, but the means to implement them.
For those looking to lead through change, WA Mining offers the insights and access needed to stay ahead in one of the world’s most important mining regions.
