Australia’s mining sector leads the world in technological innovations, with majors and mid-tiers developing and implementing many projects to enhance productivity, improve safety and reduce their environmental footprints.

Whilst autonomy is ubiquitous across certain applications, there are still many areas of the mining value chain that are yet to fully embrace the possibilities. Similarly, whilst most companies engaging various applications of data analytics, machine learning has not been fully embraced.

In 2021, the Mining Innovation Network ran two groundbreaking conferences in October and November, attracting over 300 mining executives who gathered to discuss the latest robotics, automation and machine learning opportunities and case studies.
