Austmine and AusIMM are delighted to announce the finalists for the 2025 Industry Leaders and Awards, which celebrate excellence across Australia’s world-leading mining and METS (mining equipment, technology, and services) sectors.

Winners will be revealed at the Industry Leaders and Awards Dinner, taking place on Wednesday, May 21 as part of the Global Resources Innovation Expo (GRX25) held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This annual awards program highlights the standout achievements of individuals and organisations who are shaping the future of our industry, from driving forward innovation and operational excellence to expanding Australia’s global footprint and mentoring the next generation of industry leaders.

Presented during one of the most anticipated evenings on the GRX calendar, the awards dinner will bring together more than 1000 industry professionals to recognise leadership, innovation and impact across five major award categories.

  • Oliver Mowbray, Lichen Commodities principal and geophysicist
  • Sammang David Sea, Metso Australia process engineer
  • Eric O. Ansah, University of Queensland, Sustainable Minerals Institute research fellow

Champion of Innovation Award (Sponsored by Emesent)

The Champion of Innovation recognises a standout individual who has consistently advanced innovation across their career, making a lasting contribution to the evolution of the mining and METS sectors. The winner of this prestigious award will be announced on the evening of the dinner.

The Industry Leaders and Awards Dinner is more than a celebration — it’s a chance to connect with peers, recognise the remarkable work being done across our ecosystem, and draw inspiration from those leading the way.
