IGO Limited has announced a number of changes to its executive leadership team.

Marie Bourgoin has been appointed as Chief Development Officer – Lithium, a newly created role dedicated to leading IGO’s investment in Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia (TLEA).

IGO Limited said that Ms Bourgoin is a highly credentialed resources industry leader with over 15 years’ experience working with BHP and Rio Tinto across multiple jurisdictions, commodities, operations and functions.

Most recently, Ms Bourgoin held the role of Vice President, Global Warehousing, Inventory, Logistics and Property at BHP, where she was accountable for its global warehouses, inbound logistics and inventory strategy and previously held roles including General Manager of BHP’s Newman Iron Ore Operation and General Manager of Integrated Production and Remote Operations.

Ms Bourgoin will commence with IGO Limited in August 2024.

Brett Salt has been appointed as Chief Growth and Commercial Officer, a role that IGO Limited said will have executive accountability for its exploration, business development and commercial functions.

Mr Salt has executive and non-executive experience in both listed and private business across the resources, commodities and infrastructure sectors and will be joining IGO from Redivium Limited, where he is currently Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

IGO Limited said that in previous roles with companies such as Ferrexpo PLC, Rio Tinto and Turquoise Hill Resources, Mr Salt has developed exceptional skills in global product sales and marketing, corporate development and strategy and has deep connections into China and other key global commodity markets.

Mr Salt will commence with IGO in July 2024.

IGO Limited also announced that Acting Chief Development Officer, Matt Dusci, will step down from the position after more than ten years with the company. IGO Limited said that Mr Dusci has played an important part in the significant transformation of the company and has, more recently, provided IGO Limited with strong leadership both as Acting Chief Executive Officer and in his role in managing IGO’s lithium interests in TLEA.

IGO Limited’s Managing Director and CEO, Ivan Vella, said, “I’d like to warmly welcome Marie and Brett to our leadership team and look forward to their contributions as we build on IGO’s outstanding platform for the next stage of growth.

“Marie is ideally placed to take charge of our lithium portfolio, with her impressive background in operational excellence, strategy and asset optimisation, while Brett has immense experience and capability across corporate development and product marketing and logistics and has deep connections into global commodity markets.

“Their initial focus will be on maximising value from our interests in Greenbushes and the Kwinana Refinery via the TLEA Joint Venture. I believe they will bring fresh ideas and energy to these critical assets as we continue to unlock their full potential.

“I’d also like to acknowledge the significant contribution Matt has made to the business over a long tenure, and the commitment he has shown to leading the business through some significant challenges. All of us at IGO Limited thank Matt for his dedicated service and wish him well for his next endeavour”.

Following these changes, IGO’s Executive Leadership Team will consist of:

  • Ivan Vella – Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
  • Kate Barker – Chief Legal Officer
  • Marie Bourgoin – Chief Development Officer Lithium
  • Kathleen Bozanic – Chief Financial Officer
  • Chris Carr – Acting Chief Operating Officer
  • Sam Retallack – Chief People Officer
  • Brett Salt – Chief Growth and Commercial Officer
