These two speakers will join Maurits van der Vlugt, Chair, Space, Spatial and Surveying Diversity Leadership Network (SSSDLN), on a panel led by Lucinda Hewitson, CEO & Founder, Diversity Inclusion to discuss ‘From words to action: what’s getting in the way?’

‘Research and Innovation’ will start the Friday program with Dave Gerner Program Manager – Regional Innovation, Wine Australia, talking on ‘Mapping vines to wines – GeoTech in the wine  industry’ followed by Professor Monica Wachowicz, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), with her presentation on Unleashing Geospatial AI: Opportunities and Challenges in Collaborations Between Academia and Industry.

Moderated by Elizabeth Pierce from the Australian Space Agency;  Lisa Bush, Branch Head, National Location Information Branch, Place and Communities Division Geoscience Australia, Robert Tugen, A/g Director, Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO) and Dr Darren Sutton, Program Leader Intelligence, Defence Science and Technology Group will sit on the ending panel to discuss ‘What’s the role in government in responding to emerging  trends?’

The final plenary of the conference is on the topic ‘Into the Future’ and will begin with a  dialogue on ‘Australia’s future market combining space and spatial’, moderated by Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse, Chair, Locate Conferences Australia; and including panellists Alan Smart, Senior Associate, ACIL Allen Consulting and Sandy Carruthers, Deputy Chair and space representative, The  Australia and New Zealand Land Information Council (ANZLIC).
