Tennant Mining and Emmerson Resources have classified the White Devil gold project as a major mine, marking a key milestone in their joint venture.
The deposit contains 611,400 ounces of gold and will move into a contributing major mine JV structure, with Tennant Mining holding 60 percent and Emmerson 40 percent, subject to final documentation.
Exploration and development at White Devil continue steadily, with an updated Mineral Resource Estimate scheduled for October. The partners expect to complete a feasibility study by the end of 2025, aiming to build on recent progress that included over 10,000 metres of drilling and two resource updates within the past nine months.
Emmerson Resources managing director Mike Dunbar described the major mine status of White Devil as a significant achievement, and noted that the rapid pace of work has demonstrated the project’s potential.
“To have agreement between both JV partners that the White Devil gold deposit is a major mine is a substantial development … [it is] also a reminder of what can be achieved when JV partners are aligned for a common goal,” he said.
Located about 35 kilometres northwest of Tennant Creek, White Devil benefits from proximity to existing processing infrastructure and has a history of producing more than 760,000 ounces of gold. Recent drilling has extended mineralisation west of the old open pit, underpinning the project’s development potential.
At the same time, the Golden Forty gold deposit, which holds 133,900 ounces, has been transferred to a small mine joint venture. Tennant Mining has assumed full control of the project’s development, while Emmerson retains a six percent gross production royalty on gold output.
With detailed mine planning and geotechnical drilling already underway, the deposit’s high-grade mineralisation and proximity to the Nobles processing facility support a development timeline spanning the next few years.
Golden Forty lies 14 kilometres east of Tennant Creek and offers high-grade underground mineralisation.
