Liontown Resources has announced that the first ore has passed through the crushing circuit at its Kathleen Valley site, located 680km north-east of Perth.

Commissioning of the dry plant commenced in late March 2024 with the team energising equipment and conducting checks of the systems to ensure everything worked in accordance with the design.

Liontown Resources said the team will begin to gradually ramp up the volume of ore through the crusher to build a stockpile of crushed ore.

The company said that by starting the commissioning process with the crusher, it is testing the equipment and preparing to have clean ore ready for feeding into the wet plant.

Production is on schedule for mid-2024.
