Supported by key industry groups, QME 2026 will spotlight cutting-edge innovations, foster collaboration, and celebrate excellence within Queensland’s mining community.
One of Australia’s largest regional mining events, the Queensland Mining & Engineering Exhibition (QME), will make its highly anticipated return to Mackay in July 2026, reaffirming its place at the forefront of the state’s mining sector.
With strong support from major industry stakeholders, including the Queensland Resources Council (QRC) and the Bowen Basin Mining Club (BBMC), QME 2026 promises to be one of the biggest and most impactful editions in its decades-long history.
As the official association partner, the QRC will play a critical role in shaping the event. A peak industry body and advocate for the resources sector, the council supports a sustainable regulatory environment and promotes leadership in safety, diversity, and environmental performance.
The QRC’s involvement reflects QME’s evolution as more than just a trade show – it’s a platform for collaboration and future-focused dialogue.
QRC chief executive officer Janette Hewson said in a statement that the event highlights the significant economic contribution the resources sector makes to Mackay and its surrounding regions.
“QME is now a major event on the Queensland resources calendar and, as the industry’s peak body, QRC is proud to be involved,” Hewson said. “The exhibition also takes the resources sector to the wider public and shares the innovation and world best practices that are home-grown in Queensland’s resources sector.”
Hewson will deliver a keynote at the QME conference, while the QRC will also host an on-site presence to engage directly with stakeholders.
Prime Creative Media general manager of events Siobhan Rocks echoed the enthusiasm, noting QME’s legacy and future potential.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to see the event return in 2026,” she said. “Each edition is a chance to evolve while staying true to what makes it special. We’re excited to write the next chapter alongside the passionate people who drive the industry.”
Rocks also welcomed the continued partnership with BBMC, who will once again host the Queensland Mining Awards alongside QME.
BBMC director Jodie Currie said in a statement that the awards celebrate industry excellence and align perfectly with QME’s broader mission.
“QME is always such a significant celebration of the mining industry, so hosting our awards in the midst of that celebration helps to elevate QME even further,” Currie said.
The BBMC will also use its space as a platform to showcase the Queensland Mining Awards finalists.
“For us it’s all about really getting them out there and showcasing our finalists to every person that comes through the door – to show how innovative they are and how other mining companies or projects might be able to use the innovation on their site,” Currie said.
Following a successful rebooking phase, QME 2026 has already confirmed major suppliers including ATOM, Hitachi, Brooks/XCMG, Sime Darby Group, Hidrive, MOTION, Regal Rexnord, and many more.
QME remains a vital hub for connecting with key buyers and decision-makers and celebrating the innovation that continues to power Queensland’s mining industry.
QME 2026 will be held at the Mackay Showgrounds from July 21–23, 2026. For more information or to get involved, visit www.qmeexpo.com.au/getinvolved
