The Minerals Council of Australia has announced that the eighth Victorian Women in Resources Awards – designed to recognise excellence in the sector – has opened nominations ahead of the September 2024 ceremony.
The awards shine a spotlight on the invaluable contributions of women within the resources sector, including those promoting diversity and inclusion across Victoria’s minerals industry.
By recognising champions in the sector, the awards aim to inspire women across Victoria to consider a career in the resources sector.
The awards feature six categories are:
- Exceptional Woman in Victorian Resources
- Exceptional Young Woman in Victorian Resources
- Gender Diversity Champion in Victorian Resources
- Outstanding Victorian Trade, Operator or Technician
- Award for Technological Innovation
- Excellence in Diversity Programs and Performance Award
Applications are open to employees of companies or organisations working across the Victorian minerals industry, including mine equipment, technology and services and energy.
Nominations will close on 6 May, after which the finalists will be announced. Winners from each category will then progress to the national awards ceremony in September 2024.
