With just seven days remaining until the WA Mining Conference and Exhibition kicks off, exhibitors and conference speakers alike are gearing up to showcase the latest technology-based solutions and the state’s expertise as a mining powerhouse.
Conference tickets are 90 per cent sold, with options for a two-day or one-day conference ticket available. There are more than 40 speakers presenting at the conference, on topics from critical minerals to technical innovation, digital risk and decarbonisation.
The conference, sponsored by Epiroc, includes speakers from all levels of the mining industry, supply chain, academia, peak bodies, and government. Keynotes include CEO of the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME), Rebecca Tomkinson, and CEO of mining technology firm idoba, Sarah Coleman. Other notable speakers include Executive Director Western Australia for the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) David Parker, and MinEX CRC’s Andrew Bailey.
The conference will be chaired by Emma-Louise McDonald of the Australian Mining Review, who said she is looking forward to uncovering insights that will move the industry forward.

While there are several conference sessions focusing on the future of mining, some speakers are doubling down on the idea that the future is already here. Dominic Da Cruz and Ruth Kennedy of Zenith Energy will be presenting a case study of their Australian-first “at scale engine-off” mine site in the Fraser Range.
“Our project at IGO Limited’s Nova Operation uses 100 per cent renewable energy for up to nine hours a day, without interruption to supply. The use of renewable assets is paving the way to net zero for us, and it can be done with today’s technology. We’re looking forward to presenting this case study, as well as laying out our plans for taking technology in generation, network and storage infrastructure forward into the next few years,” Mr Da Cruz said.
Alongside the conference, the free exhibition is packed with value, as attendees can expect to meet more than 120 digital and tech suppliers in the exhibition hall.
