For abrasive and corrosive slurries that need to be moved, the new PA Model Pinch Valve is a heavy-duty solution.

This fully enclosed construction valve uses elastomer sleeves to control flow and shut-off in applications with abrasive and corrosive slurries.

The sleeve is the only part that comes in contact with the media; no other mechanical parts are required and it is maintenance-free.

New to the Australian market, the PA Pinch valve offers a multitude of benefits, making it the optimal choice, including:

  • Bi-directional operation both for on/off and throttling service
  • Clog resistant, 100 per cent full bore design with no flow restrictions and turbulence, and self-cleaning features
  • Enclosed body protecting the sleeve from outside conditions
  • Sleeve is the only part exposed to the line process and no other mechanical parts are required
  • Single and double pinch closing mechanisms
  • No packing, therefore drop-tight to the outside
  • Reduced process downtime and maintenance cost with easy and quick replacement
  • Manual and double acting pneumatic actuators and electric actuators available upon request
  • Face-to-face as per ANSI B16.10 up DN 6”/ 150 same as B16.10 (class 150) plug/ball/gate valves
  • Operation under vacuum conditions feasible

Single or dual pinch options are available

The valve closes and opens by means of the pinch system. For sizes up to DN65/2,5”, a single pinch bar driven by thrust applied by the actuator pushes the sleeve to the closed position. When opening, the pinch bar simply retreats back and the elastomer sleeve recovers its normal position by means of the sleeve tag and by the line pressure.

For sizes from DN80/3”, two pinch rods driven by the thrust applied by the actuator push the sleeve both from the top and from the bottom to the closed position. When opening, the pinch rods simply retreat and the elastomer sleeve recovers its normal position by means of the sleeve tag and by the line pressure.

The Orbinox PA pinch valve will be showcased at the Queensland Mining Exhibition in July at the AVK Industrial Stand at A462.

Orbinox is a proud member of the AVK Group and is represented by AVK Industrial in Australia. It specialises in manufacturing high-quality valves, particularly for the mining industry.
