Registrations are now open for the 2024 Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition (QME).

Every two years, QME takes over the heart of Mackay, and the 2024 event will take place from 23-25 July 2024.

The 2024 exhibition is setting benchmarks across event size, exhibitors and speakers, with a super-sized floor plan already promising attendees the ultimate opportunity for connection and competitive advantage in the Queensland mining industry.

QME’s indoor expo is set to break records, with the current space nearing maximum capacity and a third pavilion being opened to accommodate the growing interest from exhibitors.

Indoor pavilions will feature hundreds of exhibitors, including Haynes, ATOM, Pirtek and Flexco. The outdoor expo will be the largest in the event’s history, with Hastings Deering, Komatsu and Hitachi displaying large-scale equipment for attendees to see first-hand.

In new additions to QME for 2024, the Decarbonisation Showcase is focused on helping companies meet growing ESG requirements by promoting smart and sustainable solutions with displays from Commodore Australia, Earthtrack Group and Parker.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and network with major mining producers and contractors including Anglo American, BHP + BMA, Glencore, Whitehaven Coal, MacKellar Group, BUMA and Bravus, in the Mining House Pavilion.

Off the exhibition floor, attendees can stay ahead of mining developments through QME’s free-to-attend seminars sponsored by Komatsu. The seminar series features an all-star lineup including Federal Resources Minister, Madeleine King, Queensland Minister for Resources, Scott Stewart, Shadow Queensland Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Dale Last, plus leaders from policy, business and academia.

Seminar topics span across critical minerals, smart mining technology, clean energy, safety, investment and future trends. This leading-edge discussion couples perfectly with QME’s opportunity to connect with the broader Queensland mining industry through highly anticipated networking events.

The QME action kicks off with a welcome function, sponsored by Hastings Deering and hosted by the Queensland Resources Council.

Hastings Deering’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mark Scott, said, “We are delighted to support this year’s exhibition as it brings together so many of our industry leaders and innovators under one roof in Mackay.

“QME’s opening function marks the start of a great program of events and provides delegates with an opportunity to connect and collaborate with each other as we continue to drive progress across our industry.”

As the leading mining and engineering event in Queensland, QME gives attendees access to more than 300 mining suppliers and the opportunity to connect with industry peers. QME’s Exhibition Director, Samantha Martin, said that this event is shaping up to be one of the best yet.

“There has been overwhelming interest from companies to participate in QME this year, with 90 per cent of exhibition stands already sold or reserved. This fantastic response gives our attendees an incredible opportunity to sample and source products and services from across the sector.

“Attending QME also means a fast-track to knowledge and connections for decision makers throughout the mining value chain,” Ms Martin said.

With great anticipation for this year’s event, Queensland Resources Council’s Chief Executive, Janette Hewson, said the impressive response to QME 2024 reflects the overall importance of the industry.

Despite the complex pressures on mining, the industry has shown its resilience and continues to deliver for Queensland by underpinning our economic prosperity and supporting over half a million jobs.

“QME is a key industry showcase event and an opportunity to gather people from across the sector. We can’t wait to be on the ground at the heart of mining country in Queensland to continue building relationships with the industry,” Ms Hewson said.

Registrations for QME attendees have opened this week. Register for free to attend the exhibition and seminar series, by visiting the QME website at queenslandminingexpo.com.au.
